Pre-MIPIM Fever
February is the craziest month of the year, at least where our publication is concerned. The telephone rings almost non-stop in our journalists' section, with representatives of numerous firms outdoing themselves in presenting subjects to be published in our periodical. The sales section claims an even greater workload, pushing advertisements to the very last moment prior to closing the issue. All that signifies MIPIM in Cannes is just around the corner. This most important event on the European real estate market is giving developers, agents, lawyers, architects, investors managers and real estate journalists, in a word everyone, a frequently rude awakening from their January snooze. Though they all are quietly swearing at the amount of work they face, there is a general awareness that they can make very much from this state of affairs, by presenting their offer at the opening of Cannes and then making avail of the contacts initiated there. This year's MIPIM is, surely, of special importance to the Polish team there. First, interest in Poland will constitute confirmation of enhanced animation on the market which is increasingly being mentioned in Warsaw. Second, the Opportunity Poland initiative, which sets itself the task of promoting Poland at international events by organizing a "May I invite you to Poland" panel, will be able to test itself in "open fighting". On my part, I am convinced that it will prove to be a significant event, attracting many people. In summary, let me wish all involved a very successful sojourn at the MIPIM, and at least some Mediterranean, Cannes sunshine to those who remain in Poland.
