Plaza Centers Poland to start on Centrum Poznań Plaza

The Polish subsidiary of the Israeli-Dutch retail centre developer Plaza Centers BV, Plaza Centers Poland, plans to begin construction of a new 40,000 sqm shopping and entertainment complex, called Centrum Poznań Plaza, in Poznań this month. The tender to select the general contractor will be held soon and the work is expected to be finished in a year and a half.
The developer, which currently manages three centres in Poland, will go on to deliver a further two to the Polish market, in Rybnik and Lublin.

Sports centre delayed

The opening of the sports centre on ul. Hirszfelda in the Warsaw district of Ursynów, initially due for completion this November, will be delayed for 12 months. The centre, constructed by Mostostal Export, Poznań PeKaBex and the Bick consortium, is to consist of a football pitch, office space of around 1,800 sqm and a commercial section of over 2,000 sqm. The cost of investment has been estimated at PLN 18 mln and is financed by the Ursynów borough.

Traffic in Blue City

Traffic Club, a record and book store owned by the Traffic Corporation, will move into 1,800 sqm at the Blue City retail and leisure centre in Warsaw, making it the one hundred and fortieth tenant signed up by the centre, which is due to open in Spring next year.

KrakChemia to develop retail facility

Polish retailer KrakChemia has invested EUR 319,800 in a 17,536 sqm plot in the southern Polish town of Debica, on which it plans to construct a retail centre, to open in mid-2005. Another centre is under development for Nowy Targ, (also in the south of the country), at a cost of EUR 3.4 mln, and which is due to be opened towards the end of next year.

Shopping centre fully leased

The mini shopping centre adjacent to the Albert supermarket in Warsaw's Wola district has been leased out entirely by Colliers International.
The tenants include an electronic appliance outlet, a chemist and a mobile phone operator. The 3,000 sqm unit (including the supermarket) was launched at the beginning of this month.
