Skanska to develop "Os Saska"

Construction is to start this year on Swedish developer Skanska's ,Os Saska" residential project on the corner of Wronia, Chlodna and Ogrodowa streets in Warsaw. The company had previously decided to wait until it felt there was sufficient interest. ,Os Saska" will consist of one building with 120 fully-fitted apartments ranging from 61 - 198 sqm and prices starting at PLN 500,000.

Warbud to construct apartments in Kraków

Polish general contractor Warbud has signed a PLN 14,681,000 contract with developer 'Czerwone Maki' to construct a residential project in Kraków on ul. Bobrzanskiego. Over 70% of Warbud's shares are owned by Vinci Construction, a division of the French Vinci Group. Wlodzimierz Wlodarczyk is the company's second biggest shareholder with a stake of over 20%.

Fewer apartments at start of year

21,600 residential units were delivered to the Polish market in the first two months of 2002, a 16% drop compared to the same period last year.
According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS) the biggest decrease, of 33%, was noted among building co-operatives (spóldzielnie) (4,900 flats).
There was, however, very little change in output from the private sector, which delivered 9,800 units to the market.
