POLAND A cigarette factory in Augustów is set to become one of the largest manufacturing plants of British American Tobacco (BAT) in the world. The BAT factory is to be extended because some of its production is being moved from Germany to Poland (following the closure of its plant in Bayreuth). The extended factory in Augustów will offer more than 200 extra jobs.

POLAND La Palette Rogue, a company specialising in pallet pooling and leasing services for the FMCG sector, has leased a total of 6,300 sqm in Panattoni Park Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Panattoni Park Sosnowiec II.
1.5 mln sqm vacant on Moscow warehouse market
RUSSIA The volume of vacant space on the Moscow warehouse market has reached a record 1.5 mln sqm out of a total stock of 12.4 mln sqm, according to JLL. This means that the vacancy rate in existing warehouse premises has increased to 12.5 pct compared to 10.5 pct at the end of 2015.
iQor grows in Bydgoszcz
POLAND iQor, one of the largest service companies in Europe, is to enlarge its Bydgoszcz branch. The company, which is involved in the guarantee and post-guarantee repairs of electronic equipment, will extend the branch by 14,000 sqm.

POLAND French producer of intelligent home and building systems Somfy has doubled the sales of key products compared to the same period the previous year. Due to its growth, the company is planning to extend its distribution centre Poland and build a new head office in Warsaw, employing more staff.

CZECH REPUBLIC P3 has started work on the construction of a new 40,000 sqm warehouse at P3 Prague D11 for French distribution company FM Logistic.

CE REGION “Central Europe is beginning to experience a shortage of available industrial space to lease – which may lead manufacturing companies to look at other locations. For example, Spain or Portugal might become our competitors,” predicts Ferdinand Hlobil, the head of Cushman & Wakefield’s CE industrial team.
