PKP and Poczta Polska have signed an agreement to enable the cooperation on several development projects, said Maciej Król, CEO of Xcity Investment, a developer company of Polish Railways group. "We are very glad to see Poczta Polska as our partner in this project. It will increase our 14-ha area and connect it with the existing Gdynia Główna railway station. Within the next two years we would like to start one of its first phases. There has been no decision on the scale and the function of the project so far, but it will likely feature a large residential part," explained the president.
"The next project is Warszawa Gdańska. Its first phase is to include the construction of a new station which is currently being designed. We will also have to create a temporary interchange station to serve intercity connections. It is a crucial project for us due to the planned renovation of Warsaw’s City railway tunnel. Also, we will probably build one of the planned office buildings in the first phase of the project."
"Centralna Park is one of the largest challenges there are for us right now. We have a very nice undeveloped plot in the Warsaw city centre which holds potential for future development. We have already publicized one of the projects that could be developed on the grounds. The development is planned to be synchronized with the renovation of the City railway tunnel which is situated beneath the plot. Within the next two years we will work on designing the project and selecting the investor, so we could start preparing for the project in 2017 or 2018. For sure it will be a long process as the complex is very big and sophisticated. We expect the project to be completed in 2024-2026 at the soonest, although some phases could be completed earlier."
"Warszawa Główna is the first joint project of Xcity and PKP and it is being carried out now. We have already started negotiations with potential investors. Poczta Polska has a plot located next to ours, on ul. Towarowa. The inclusion of this plot would be a significant next stop for the project. We have shortlisted four potential partners and now are trying to decide on who we should choose. We would like to sign an investment contract and start preparing for launching the project this year."
