Lublin city hall to sell all its properties

"Two years ago, after thorough analysis, Lublin City decided to move its city hall offices to a rented property. We realised that with our budget and indebtedness, it was impossible for us to build new premises on our own and it would be much more effective for us to find the space we needed on the market," said Mariusz Sagan, director of the department of strategy, city of Lublin.
"We called a tender and the winner will develop a building in the city centre that will house the city hall units, among others. Several departments, residents service, the office of the mayor, and more, will be moved there once the construction work is completed. The Lublin City will take up 14,000 sqm in the 21,000 sqm property, so we will be its main tenant. We will have the option to buy out the entire building after 20 years of lease, but as for now it is too early for us to say what the ultimate decision on the purchase will be. After the move, the city hall will be consolidated in one big complex," said Mariusz Sagan.

Lublin city hall aims to sell off the remaining city hall buildings, except from the historical ones, of course. Those will serve representative functions or will be used by the city council. // Lublin City aims to start the auction procedures to sell the properties in 2017 or 2018, as our new offices should be ready at the end of 2017. There are over a dozen or so properties to be sold. We have already started to conduct the market analysis in order to get prepared for the transactions. Their exact value will be set by the market itself. We will have to wait and see what the property prices will be in two, three years time, and what the general economic conditions will be. But as for now we are estimating that PLN 40 to 50 mln could possibly power our budget as a result of the sales.
