POLAND Carrefour takes over in Plac Unii

Retail & leisure
A 3,000 sqm Carrefour supermarket is to open in thee Plac Unii office and retail complex in Warsaw, where it will replace Supersam, which operated in the complex until the end of 2022.

The owner of Plac Unii, Invesco Real Estate, was advised by Greenberg Traurig during the leasing process.

Congratulations to Invesco Real Estate on the completion of this transaction, which is unique due to the fact that the tenant is a renowned food operator and its specific requirements had to be considered during the negotiating process. In order to ensure the continuity of there being a grocery operator, the lease negotiations had to be conducted extremely efficiently. Our knowledge of market practices in such types of lease and our previous experience in negotiating agreements with Carrefour’s clients certainly helped us to close this transaction in such a short timeframe.
Magdalena Życzkowska-Jóźwiak, a local partner of Greenberg Traurig

Plac Unii, on pl. Unii Lubelskiej on the southern fringe of Warsaw city centre, comprises 46,000 sqm of leasable office space and 15,500 sqm of retail with around 50 stores. The complex is made up of two 6-storey buildings and a 21-storey tower.
