EUR 30 mln Prague Airport job for Eurovia and Hochtief
CZECH REPUBLIC A consortium comprising Eurovia and Hochtief has been awarded a CZK 835 mln (app. EUR 30.826 mln) contract to expand the second terminal and construct a new runway parallel to it at Václav Havel – Ruzyně Airport in Prague.

Italian job for Baltic pipeline
POLAND Italian drilling and engineering company Saipem has been awarded a EUR 280 mln contract by the Polish gas transmission operator Gaz-System for the transportation and installation of a natural gas pipeline between Denmark and Poland in the Baltic Sea. A permit for the work to take place in Swedish waters has also now been issued, allowing the project to go ahead.

ROMANIA Austrian constructor Strabag has been commissioned to build a 640m cable-stayed bridge across the river Someș in the western Romanian city of Satu Mare.
Skanska wins Karviná bypass contract
CZECH REPUBLIC Skanska has been awarded a CZK 900 mln [app. EUR 33 mln] contract by The Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic [ŘSD ČR] to construct a new bypass for Karviná, close to the Polish border in the Moravian-Silesian region of the country.

POLAND Budimex is completing work on its 2.5 km section of the DW936 provincial road, which will eventually make up part of the Mielec ring road (around 64 km north east of Rzeszów).

EU supports ports and rail
POLAND Six infrastructure projects have been awarded European Union financing worth almost PLN 722 mln. The ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście will be extended and modernised, 22 railway platforms in three provinces will be adapted to the needs of the disabled and shipping facilities along the river Odra are to be improved.
