Vienna House launches concierge app
TechnologyThe Gustaffo.com online app is designed to support hotel staff and streamline guest services. Vienna House claims that it will benefit hotel staff as well as guests. Mobile concierge services include all-day hotel services, order receipt and information transfer. Gustaffo.com was developed by Vienna-based company J-IT. Mobile concierge services include: online check-in and check-out, a telephone alarm clock, room service, an electronic folder for guests, taxi ordering, tourist information, electronic newspapers and magazines, and booking for the hotel restaurant and spa treatment. The app also supports the staff in terms of chatting with guests in real time, but also provides more time for individual conversations. In order to use the service, guests simply connect with the hotel Wi-Fi network, after which they are automatically transferred to mobile concierge services. The application is available in a number of languages, such as Finnish.
“The fact that mobile concierge services can be connected with the hotel’s own system is undoubtedly an important asset for the hotels interested in the purchase of the application,” claims Thorsten Guggenberger, the general director of J-IT, while emphasising the assets of the new application. “Digital technology has not fully entered the hotel sector, so mobile concierge services are probably the simplest way of streamlining the digitalisation process. In technological terms, the app is simple and convenient for the hotel and most importantly for the guests,” adds Thorsten Guggenberger.
“It is a simple service, which is of particular importance for guests and the staff, as well as the inclusion of personalisation options for each hotel, which provides great added value and makes us stand out from our competition,” claims Stefan Urdl, the director of the IT department in Vienna House.
The application is already used in hotels in nine European countries. The starting package contains such functions as: an electronic folder for guests, live chat with the reception, multilingual versions and a content management system. Additional functions can be purchased and integrated with the module system. “Hotel managers are particularly interested in the additional reporting function, with which all the necessary information for interacting with the guests by electronic means can be recorded. In this way the management of the hotel can monitor and analyse the service in real time and react to guests’ needs in an even more individual way,” adds Thorsten Guggenberger.
