The trains will be on time

The contract is worth PLN 560 mln net. A total of 63 km of track is to be laid in 42 months from the launch of the work with completion planned for October 2020. The work also includes the modernisation of track beds, the development of branch points, the comprehensive redevelopment of a station and its platforms, the construction of a building in Kutno as well as the redevelopment of the overhead cable network, and the modernisation of telecommunication networks and equipment. New subways and platforms are to be built with shelters, benches, lighting and signage that is to be will be fully accessible for the disabled. The Żychlin-Barłogi rail section is part of the E20 Pan-European Transport Corridor connecting the EU with Eastern Europe and Asia. After the modernisation work the line’s capacity will increase to 500 trains per day with passenger trains travelling at a speed of 160 km/h and goods trains at 120 km/h.
