Poland 7R Hub in Nowa Huta
Warehouse & industrial
Hub 7R is one of the components of the multifunctional and city-creating project ‘Kraków - Nowa Huta of the Future’, which aims to restore the splendour of the post-industrial part of the district and is part of the city's strategic objectives.
Kraków is where 7R originated, so we are proud to create a project that will be our contribution to the development of this city. Hub 7R is an investment in which we will use all our knowledge and experience to create opportunities that have never been seen in Kraków before. Thanks to the unprecedented location and scale of the project, we will create new opportunities not only for Krakow's business, but also for the entire logistics and industrial market. We want this project to attract innovative companies, investors and create thousands of new jobs, supporting the dynamic development of Kraków as a modern, friendly place to live and do business.
Magdalena Kostjan, head of Leasing, 7R
7R Hub will be located 13 km from Krakow's City Square. The advantage of the location is the possibility to use the refreshed railway facilities, the proximity of the A4 motorway (connecting Ukraine with Germany) and the S7 motorway, communicating Krakow with Warsaw, Gdańsk and the south of Poland. Employees can easily reach the complex by public transport.
7R Hub will be another facility in Poland built to the standard of the latest 7R line of low-emission Green Saver buildings, which achieve the highest Outstanding BREEAM certification results in continental Europe. Thanks to the solutions used, the buildings generate significant energy savings and achieve a minimum 50-pct reduction in operational CO2 emissions and a 50-pct reduction in primary energy demand in relation to Polish technical conditions. This is made possible through the use of heat pumps, a photovoltaic installation linked to the building's own energy storage and advanced lighting control.
The project involves revitalising the site and planting 1,500 new trees, including habitat-friendly species. The site's natural basins will be used to create rain gardens to help store and filter water.
Adjacent to the development, a green zone called 7Relax will be created - a relaxation area for employees. The space will be artistically arranged according to the design of one of the students of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, awarded in the ‘Warehouse of Art: Young art for the planet’ competition.
‘Kraków - Nowa Huta of the Future’ is a strategic project of the Municipality of Kraków and the Małopolska Voivodeship, the aim of which is to create a new urban unit on post-industrial areas and constituting the former protective zone of the metallurgical combine in Nowa Huta, thus deepening the economic diversification of the city and the voivodeship. The project includes components: Logistics and Industrial Centre ‘Ruszcza’, Science and Technology Park ‘Branice’, Housing Development Area, Centre for Large-Scale Outdoor Cultural Events ‘Błonia 2.0’ and Recreation and Leisure Centre ‘Przylasek Rusiecki’.
