Construction volumes still falling

Output by domestic firms was down 15.2 pct y-o-y to EUR 444.7 mln, affected by significant fall in the value of new construction projects of 23.4 pct, whereas non-domestic output increased by 38.3 pct. However, the volume of repair and maintenance works was up by 28.4 pct. The volume of civil engineering work (27 pct of the total contracted) decreased by 27.2 pct over the twelve months, while the construction of buildings (73 pct of the total contracted) fell by 9.9 pct. Over the first eight months construction output volume reached EUR 2.998 bln, a y-o-y fall of 11.5 pct, while domestic output decreased by 13.2 pct to EUR 2.835 bln.
