The buildings in the CEE region include Business Garden Bucharest A, which scored 98 pct for LEED v3 Core & Shell, Business Garden Bucharest C (97 pct), Praga Studios (97 pct) in Prague, Business Garden Bucharest B (96 pct) and Visionary (95 pct) in Prague. Praga Studios in Karlín district and Visionary in Holešovice district were both developed by Skanska.
“LEED certification at the ‘Platinum’ level is the standard of all the buildings that Skanska has completed in the Czech Republic in the last six years. We are very proud that our Czech projects rank among the highest places on the list of sustainable buildings – not only regionally, but also on a global level. This proves that we are pushing the boundaries of technical solutions as part of our development activities in Prague, which ultimately benefits not only the buildings’ tenants, but the whole city,” insists Alexandra Tomášková, Skanska’s executive vice-president of commercial development for Hungary and the Czech Republic.
The 12,000 sqm Praga Studios was sold to CBRE Global Investors last year for EUR 55 mln, while the 22,500 sqm Visionary building was sold to CA Immo for EUR 68 mln in Q2 2018.
Business Garden Bucharest was developed by Vastint Romania and contains a total of 43,000 sqm of leasable space in its three buildings. Vastint also owns the buildings in Romania with the two next highest scores – two buildings of its Timpuri Noi Square development in Bucharest.
Antoniu Panait, the managing director of Vastint Romania, has commented: “Our main objective in Vastint was to deliver not only good-looking projects, but also viable ones that confirm to our tenants that we are a highly reliable partner. We are confident that it is through all these efforts that our projects have achieved such amazing results. Business Garden Bucharest and Timpuri Noi Square are now certified LEED Platinum, with the highest score in Romania. Obtaining LEED Platinum certification with one of the highest scores worldwide shows recognition for the efforts that our team has made. We aim for the same high green certification standard for all our projects, including the next phase of Timpuri Noi Square and those to follow in the near future.”
Upon its completion Timpuri Noi will comprise 100,000 sqm of leasable space in three buildings.
