Back in bloom

Spring has very much sprung and everywhere is bathed in the first warm sunshine of the year. Even though, as I write this editorial, I have in the back of my mind the terrifying forecasts for the next few days, when we could see frost and even some snow in a chilling echo of winter, I nevertheless still believe that the most beautiful (in my opinion, of course) season of the year is here to stay

Fitted out for purpose

Modern fit-outs require needs analyses, ESG, the imagination of the designers, an appropriate budget, and the expertise of the contractors. But the entire fit-out market has been changing together with the rest of the office market

Ready to do business

The Kuyavian-Pomeranian region of Poland, with its regional capital of Bydgoszcz, is positioning itself as a vibrant place to do business – with new modern roads giving it easy access to Poland’s sea ports in the north as well as other major cities, including Poznań, Wrocław, Szczecin and Warsaw

Brighter on the Baltic

Lithuania, along with the other Baltic States, has been frequently popping up in real estate magazines such as Eurobuild CEE over the last couple of years. much of this news has been about Baltic funds and investors entering the Polish market and others in our region. So, what is actually going on in the Lithuanian market itself? How badly impacted has it been by the war? And why are these investors now turning to neighbouring markets?

A tale of three cities

War is obviously devastating for real estate – both in terms of the physical damage to buildings and infrastructure as well as the ability to get new projects off the ground and attract new investment. But there’s one real estate investor that’s taking an active interest in the war-torn Ukrainian property market – Arcona Capital. We spoke to Guy Barker, the principal of the company, about why it is taking such a bold step

About to go rental

What was once an alternative asset class could become one of the driving forces behind the residential market. While PRS remains something of a niche sector, the changing economic conditions and growing Developer interest could mean that at last something is about to happen

A French wind in our sails

More than 20,000 delegates gathered in Cannes in early March for the 35th MIPIM real estate fair. At the event, development opportunities and optimisations were explored, local authorities showcased their sustainable urban projects, and the leaders of the sector discussed the resurgence of the market in the face of changing global trends. Poland played more than a small part in these conversations

In capsule form

Fat Thursday is a difficult day for anyone who just wants to eat a doughnut in peace. The supply barely meets the demand – and in some places it doesn’t keep up at all. You end up standing outside a bakery in a queue that stretches out around the corner of the block and know that your blood glucose level is going to fall to zero before you even get to the counter
