<>Automotive investment springing up in Wolsztyn

<>Firestone Industrial Products, a manufacturer of air-springs for industry and the automotive sector, has entered into an agreement to purchase land in Wolsztyn, 70 km from Poznań (west of Poland). The firm is considering building a new factory, which would be the first of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, and was said to be attracted by the city's available labour force and its good communication links. Colliers International acted as consultant for Firestone. Firestone Industrial Products is a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc, which is also a major manufacturer of car tyres.

<>New industrial park to battle unemployment

<>The authorities of Bytom (nr. Katowice - southern Poland) are hoping to access EU structural funds in order to set up a new industrial park to combat unemployment. A 275 ha state-owned site has already been chosen for which a detailed plan will be prepared over the coming three months. The park is the eighth in the region and will be managed by GAPP (Gornosląska Agencja Przekształceń Przedsiębiorstw), the public organisation which is responsible for the transformation of state industries

<>Univeg leases cool premises in Poznań

<>The Univeg group is to lease 3,533 sqm of industrial space in ProLogis Park Poznań (West Poland). The international group, which originates from Belgium, specialises in the full chain of agricultural processes from harvesting, processing to distribution. In Poland the company already employs 250 workers and runs 24,000 sqm of cold-storage storage facilities.

<>Tiner enters the Polish market

<>Portuguese developer Tiner has announced that it is entering the Polish market. For starters the company is planning to develop four warehouses (22,000 sqm each) in Wrocław. The estimated cost of this project will amount to EUR 42 mln. Future plans involve the construction of residential and retail buildings in Warsaw. Tiner Group has been operating in Portugal for 20 years. It specializes in the fields of warehouses, shopping centres, retail parks and residential projects. The value of its current investments is app. EUR 100 mln. The company is also looking to expand into Hungary and Czech Republic. Martifer is Tiner's partner in Poland.

<>Frans Maas moves to Wrocław

<>Logistics and freight forwarding specialist Frans Maas has announced its intention to open a twelfth warehouse in Poland. Employing around 60 people, the facility in Wrocław will be a 'minimum of 10,000 - 20,000 sqm' and will supplement the firms current space of 50,000 sqm.
