On September 19th, real estate investor IVG Poland together with Eurobuild Conferences held ‘A Sentimental Journey Back to the 20s and 30s with IVG’ – a theme party especially for leasing agents active on the Warsaw property Market

Why hold a themed event based on the 1920s and 30s? As Maciej Zajdel, the managing director of IVG Poland explained, such a period event chimed in perfectly with IVG’s present strategy on theWarsaw market. IVG is currentlyfocusing on the purchase and asset management of refurbishedboutique style historic office properties. “We are concentratingon smaller office propertieswith soul and tenant-dedicated“own address” buildings. Companies are beginning to return to such unique class ‘A’ addresses, preferring such properties to huge tower blocks,” he says. Unlike more modern buildings, their quality and sustainability is even often seen to improve with age. So, on arrival at the Concept restaurant in Warsaw, all the men were handed trilbies and gigantic cigars, while the women were furnished with feather boas and cigarette holders. With everyone suitably togged out as gangsters and molls, the night began in earnest with a performance by six professional dancers: Anna Głogowska was paired with Jan Kliment, Magdalena Soszyńska with Rafał Maserak, while Janja Lesar was with Krzysztof Hulboj, who demonstrated the Charleston, the Foxtrot and Swing style. Then the bar took centre stage with a “molecular drinks show”. A number of liquids bubbled with dry ice as in a 1930s horror film, after which TV presenter Hubert Urbański, took to the floor to present what he described as a dance with the property agents, who then did indeed come out in large numbers for Charleston classes. But a more competitive element was needed so the dance students in pairs tried to out-dance each other. They were all ultimately declared first-equal. But there were two special mentions: Łukasz Orzechowski and Agnieszka Krzekotowska, both from Colliers International, as well as Tomasz Marsz of Sharman Church with Larisa Petrova of GreenFields Investments. The main event of the night was the quiz on Warsaw’s architecture. Teams were fielded by Maxon, Savills, Knight Frank and Cushman & Wakefield, with two teams from Colliers International, and one made up of a number of agencies. In the final Colliers Property management defeated Savills by three points to zero. The last scheduled event for the evening was another fabulous dance show. With the formal part of the evening now over, the guests were able to continue the dancing and partying into the small hours of the next day.
