POLAND The Mayor of Warsaw has granted a permit for the construction of the new home of the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra, at its present address on ul. Grochowska 272 in the city’s Praga-Południe district.

POLAND A total of PLN 34 mln is to be invested in the redevelopment of Park Ludowy in Lublin, which is to provide recreational activities for people of various age groups.

Five parties interested in Szczecin aqua park
POLAND A consortium of Alstal Group companies has submitted the lowest bid in a tender for the construction of an aqua park in Szczecin, although the price offered by the contractor (PLN 349.7 mln) is actually higher than the municipal budget allocated to the project.

POLAND Szczecin city council has signed the contract with a consortium of Doroca and PBG, which won the tender to reconstruct the city stadium and build the Children’s and Youth Training Centre [Centrum Szkolenia Dzieci i Młodzieży]. The costs for the project will amount to PLN 364.4 mln, of which PLN 261.2 mln will be for the construction of the stadium.

Radiotherapy comes to Zgorzelec
POLAND The Amethyst radiotherapy centre in Zgorzelec was opened at the beginning of November where up to 1,200 patients may be treated every year. The 2,200 sqm centre was built by SpaceFactory for Amethyst Radiotherapy.

POLAND The city of Warsaw is in the process of selecting a contractor to modernise the pool complex in Park Kultury in Powsin on the outskirts of the city with the opening scheduled for June next year.

POLAND Dostępność Plus [Accessibility Plus] is the first programme in Poland to make public spaces and places accessible to the disabled and the elderly as well as those with special needs, such as mothers with children and pregnant women.
